| | | The Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust is pleased to announce that Mark Romanowsky is now the President of our Board of Directors. Mark is a founding director of the Trust and chairs our Land Protection Committee. Mark is a lifelong Lowellian, having grown up in the Acre. Many of you may know Mark through his local medical practice or you may recognize him as the artist behind our Special Places notecards and prints. Mark commented, "Henri has done a wonderful job as president of the Land Trust. It is an honor to replace him as the president. The LP&CT has accomplished much over the last 20 years. With the help of our membership, financial supporters, and very appreciated management we will continue to work hard to make Lowell a special place to live and visit." We're grateful to Henri Marchand for his six years of leadership at the helm of the Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust. Henri recently stepped down as President, but will remain on the board, as he moves into his new professional role as Assistant to the City Manager of Lowell, Bernie Lynch. Henri remarks, "It's been a privilege to serve as president of the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust and to work with such an incredible group-from our dedicated board, talented staff, and generous and informed members-to help preserve and enhance our natural environment. I have been regularly amazed at what this team has undertaken and accomplished. I look forward to working with Mark who, with his long commitment and great generosity to the Trust and its mission, will lead us to even greater successes." We're also pleased to announce that Brian Cutler is now our Stewardship & Education Manager. Brian will be now focusing more of his work on our environmental education (youth and adult) and land protection programs for his two days with us. Don't worry you'll still see him lock tending or over at the Spalding House! We're fortunate to share Brian with Mass Audubon's Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary. Brian says, "I'm really excited to be taking on this new role. I'm looking forward to further developing our environmental education and stewardship programs in ways that will connect the people of Lowell to the land and give them a great sense of how special and important all of our natural resources are." PART-TIME PROJECT SPECIALIST POSITION OPEN With Brian moving over to Stewardship & Education, this opens up our part-time Project Specialist position for which we're currently hiring.
