Director Freida Lee Mock's Academy Award-winning documentary film takes us back to the controversial origins of the renowned Vietnam Veterans Memorial and its young creator, 21-year-old Yale architecture student Maya Lin. Though a prestigious and beloved U.S. monument, the Memorial and its simplistic design still elicits conflicting emotion from service men and women as well as civilians. Following the film, we hope you will share your thoughts on this poignant monument and this very turbulent time in our nation's history This event is presented in commemoration of Veterans' Day. We respectfully extend a special invitation to all our local veterans as well as our active duty service men and women. We're pleased to premiere a new venue for film in Lowell! The Art Gallery at Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union's Lowell headquarters features a built-in, state-of-the-art digital projection and sound system that will enhance your enjoyment of our film event. A variety of artist works are showcased in this new gallery space on a rotating basis in collaboration with the Arts League of Lowell. |
