More information: www.gpl.org From Mundane Foundations to Monsters, June 2 - 27 Artist Michael Miller combines found objects (wood from dismantled mills, scrap metal from abandoned lots in Lowell, and store-bought hardware) into canvas-like structures, then layers them with varnish, oil, and acrylic, alternately building up and tearing down the surface. More Information: theloadingdockgallery.com Civil War film series at Pollard Library, May 15 - June 25 All films shown in conjunction with Pollard Library's display of Forever Free, a traveling exhibition that "reexamines President Lincoln's efforts toward the abolition of slavery during the Civil War." More information: www.pollardml.org "Wanderings" at Centro Restaurant, through June Downtown Lowell restaurant Centro will feature the works of Arts League of Lowell (ALL) artist and member Kellie Weeks from her series titled "Wanderings," encaustic paintings based on self-seeking and self-searching. In the event of rain, tables will be supplied in the Parker Gallery. Members are welcome to use their own easels as well. This event is open to the public.
