TONIGHT | "Browsing Through Birke's" screens in downtown Lowell!

Join us TONIGHT in downtown Lowell!

Browsing Through Birke's

Tuesday, May 18  |  6PM
Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center

246 Market Street, Lowell
Free admission!

Not just a film screening ... a coming together of community!

When Nathan and Sally Birke started their lives in Lowell in the 1940s, they'd spent years enduring the horrors of World War II and the Holocaust. Their story of survival, perseverance, and success comes to life in the witty, poignant documentary Browsing Through Birke's. If you weren't around for downtown Lowell's Birke's Department Store, this film is a must see. If you DID visit the Market Street landmark, memories will come flooding back, especially if you were fortunate enough to make it through the doors to browse countless racks of modern and vintage clothes. Were you "thrown" out of Birke's? Have memories of shopping? Come share your story! And if you're reading this wondering "why would anyone be thrown out of a department store?," this film cannot be missed!
