Streep immersed herself in her Academy-nominated role as the legendary Julia Child who won the hearts of millions through her hit TV show "The French Chef." Adams plays the sheltered Julie Powell who embarks on cooking all 524 recipes from Child's cookbook in 365 days. Directed by Nora Ephron and based on Powell's real-life writings on her 'cookbook experiment,' Julie & Julia also tells the remarkable story of Julia Child's rise to stardom.
