Lowell Memorial Auditorium · 50 East Merrimack Street · Lowell, MA 01852 Next Week Stomp · Tickets Tuesday, March 9 at 8pm  Wednesday, March 10 at 8pm   STOMP is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique and appeals to audiences of all ages.  The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews, and has appeared on numerous national television shows.  The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments - matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps - to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.  As USA Today says, "STOMP finds beautiful noises in the strangest places."  STOMP.  See what all the noise is about.     The Chieftains · Tickets Thursday, March 11 at 7:30pm   Six time Grammy winners, The Chieftains, are now recognized for bringing traditional Irish music to the world's attention.  They have uncovered the wealth of traditional Irish music that has accumulated over the centuries, making the music their own with a style that is as exhilarating as it is definitive.  The Chieftains were formed in 1962 by Paddy Moloney, from the ranks of the top folk musicians in Ireland.  Although their early following was purely a folk audience, the range and variation of their music very quickly captured a much broader public, making them today the best known Irish band in the world.     Stomp Out Hunger    STOMP, which returns to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on March 9, 2010 and March 10, 2010, is partnering with The Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank to help STOMP Out Hunger.  From March 1, 2010 to March 6, 2010, the Lowell Five will be accepting non-perishable food donations at each of its 14 branch locations.  Coupons offering a 10% discount on tickets to STOMP will be available for anyone that makes a food donation.  All food donations will go to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank.     Tickets and Group Sales   Tickets may be purchased in person at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium box office located at 50 East Merrimack Street in Lowell, by calling the box office at (978) 454-2299 or online at www.lowellauditorium.com.   Tickets for Tony Orlando are only available in person at the box office and on www.lowellauditorium.com.   Groups of 15 or more people receive discounts on most shows. To purchase tickets for your group, please contact Cheryl Popp at (978) 937-8688 x225 or cpopp@lowellauditorium.com.   For more information about group sales, log on www.lowellauditorium.com/GroupSales.aspx.
