| "China Blue"
Special guest speaker:
UMass Lowell Emerita Jean Pyle
Monday, April 12 6:30PM
Free admission!
Shot clandestinely at a blue-jeans factory in southern China, '"China Blue'" reveals what international retail companies don't want us to see: how the clothes we buy are actually made. Discover the striking parallels of these compelling stories to Lowell in the days of its boarding houses and 'mill girls'. Co-sponsored by Middlesex Community College Cultural Connections, UMass Lowell Department of Regional Economic and Social Development, and the Lowell Film Collaborative.
Please join us for a reception and post-film discussion with guest speaker Jean Pyle.

Commemorate Earth Day and explore the beauty and history of Lowell's historic Concord River in director Chad Montrie's locally produced documentary short. Hear more about the river's relationship to Lowell's mill past and learn more about the Concord River Greenway Park and other programs of the Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust, whose mission is to reconnect people to the river and its broader environment. | "One Man's Hero"
A story of faith, devotion, and the fight for freedom.
Tuesday, May 4
Enjoy delicious dinner and beverages before, during, or after the film!
Don't miss our first event at Garcia Brogan's restaurant in the Hamilton Canal District! Still a bit of a controversial picture (and more renowned in Mexico than in the U.S.), "One Man's Hero" tells the little-known story of the "St. Patrick's Brigade" or "San Patricios," a group of Irish immigrants in the U.S. Army who deserted to Mexico after encountering religious and ethnic prejudice during the Mexican-American War. Co-sponsored by the Irish Cultural Committee, St. Patrick's Church, Garcia Brogan's, and the Lowell Film Collaborative.
