A Message from Charles Towers and Tom Parrish

Annual Fund HeaderCharles and Tom Photo

For 32 seasons, Merrimack Repertory Theatre's productions and education programs have helped enrich our community's quality of life, expand our understanding of ourselves and others, educate our youth, promote our regional economy, and foster civic pride.  Nearly every day we hear stories from our audience about how our theatre has touched their lives in important and meaningful ways - the play that brought a family closer together, the child that now dreams of doing something spectacular, the immigrant who feels a new connection to her homeland, the elder that finds great solace in his once a month outing to MRT, and the local restaurateur whose business comes alive on performance nights.

As a leader in the not-for-profit American theatre, MRT's reputation is built on the consistently high quality of our actors, directors and designers and our commitment to the production of new and contemporary work for the stage.  It is because of donations from people like you that we have been able to garner this reputation, provide you with national level theatre and build incredible momentum toward a bright future.

Since we are committed to producing high quality theatre and arts education programs affordable by everyone, we rely on donations from individuals, businesses, foundations and government agencies to support approximately 50% of the cost of our charitable endeavor.  We are working hard to advance our theatre and our community, but we cannot do it alone and we value your help.

Please consider making a tax-deductible year-end donation to Merrimack Rep's Annual Fund by December 31.

Whether you give $50, $100 or $1,000, we hope we can count on your support. Know that your generosity makes an incredible impact on the cultural identity, quality of life and economic vitality of the entire Merrimack Valley region.  Your gift will enable us to produce another first-rate season of productions and education programs and to maintain the accessibility and affordability of those programs.  You will be helping your theatre reach even greater heights of achievement and deepen the impact MRT has on the people of this region.

Thank you in advance for your generous support. May you and yours have a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Warm regards,

P.S. - The IRA Charitable Rollover has been reinstated through 2011 as part of the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010.  Contributions for the 2010 tax year can be made retroactively through January 2011.  Given the short window of opportunity to take advantage of this incentive for 2010, we encourage you to contact your financial advisor soon.  The IRA Rollover was first enacted in 2006 as part of the Pension Protection Act.  The provision allows individuals aged 70½ and older to donate up to $100,000 from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) to public charities without having to count the distributions as taxable income.
