This fun and educational program will be led in partnership with Mass Audubon and Brush Art Gallery. Come out and see for yourself how abundant wildlife is in Lowell, especially along the Concord River Greenway (CRG). First you will learn about the "art of tracking" along the CRG. Later on at the Brush Art Gallery you will have the chance to see wildlife, such as an American kestrel and a spotted turtle, "up close and personal" and learn about the challenges they face when it comes to survival in the wild. Lost in Pittsburgh documents a four-year journey by the artist into the lives of young adults who have chosen to live outside of the mainstream of society in the sub-cultural group often referred to as the "Punkers." The photographs are from a point of view that is sympathetic to the subject's perspective in order to gain insight and understanding of youth living in this distinctive culture. Matolcsy attempts to capture within the work the metaphors and themes in life that are universal to all. Exhibition dates: January 25 - February 19
